Client Overview:
ForMyTax.Com is an online tax filing agency that helps individuals and businesses file their taxes. During COVID19, ForMyTax was looking for a solution that allowed their clients to file their taxes online from the comfort of their homes without stepping foot into the office.
Individuals and businesses can now handle any tax scenario without stepping a foot into the tax preparer’s office. ForMyTax app allows users to upload their documents securely, power all communication needs, including meetings, chat, phone with a tax preparer, and review, e-sign, and file tax from the comfort and security of their house during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Opportunity:
ForMyTax was looking to develop an enterprise mobile application that would allow individuals and firms to file taxes and give CPAs the tools to work remotely.
ForMyTax.Com‘s mobile application and CRM development started with a discovery meeting, a design vision, and a layout of its target market. Luminous Tec has been instrumental in developing it’s mobile application and enterprise CRM application from the ground up, from conception to design and product roadmap guidance.
Solution and Results:
1. Discovery And Prototyping
The first stage of mobile application and CRM development was the discovery of the needs of the user and the tax preparers. We performed customer and tax preparer’s interviews and competitor product analysis to better understand the needs and suggest the solutions to the problem we were trying to solve.
We leveraged insights from our intensive design creation sessions to identify improvement areas and recommended mobile best practices that would significantly revamp the user experience. These insights allowed us to develop an easy-to-use application with an updated UI; simplified navigation, user verification, sign-up; user onboarding; and intuitive user flows. These outcomes resulted in a more streamlined digital experience allowing users to file their taxes without getting bogged down by the complications associated with tax filing.
2. Prioritization & Product Strategy
We collaborated with our client, ForMyTax.Com, to design and develop a prioritized product roadmap for phased delivery using our ‘T, T+1, and T+n’ model. Our regular cadence allowed us and our client ForMyTax.Com to concentrate our efforts on fine-tuning the app’s core functionalities and soft-launching the app just in time for the 2021 tax filing season. Our speed to market was extremely beneficial to the client because it allowed them to stay within budget while quickly addressing immediate market needs. We provided the client with guidance and a strategic product roadmap using our ‘T, T+1, and T+n’ model, ensuring they got the most bang for their buck while having a clear plan for future growth.
3. React Native Mobile App Development and Delivery
Considering our client’s desire to launch the product ASAP, we implemented the solution using a AWS Cloud react native framework. The biggest advantage of React Native is that developers don’t need to create separate codes for different platforms (Android and iOS). In fact, around 90% of the code can be reused between the two platforms which help increase development speed and efficiency considerably.
As a result, there were improvements in efficiency, customer relationships, information accessibility, and competitive advantages over other players, and we were able to launch the mobile and web application on time and within budget.
We also delivered a web-based CRM that helped ForMyTax.com‘s tax preparers organize all Client data and workflows.
The administrators and tax CPA’s were able to view latest sales activity to your customer account info in one central place, organize their daily schedules, prioritize leads and manage work hours most effectively to deliver consistently high sales performance.
